Dear Brothers & Sisters,
We are so grateful for your willingness to accept an assignment for our upcoming stake trek. Please understand that by serving as a Ma & Pa your contribution and service is absolutely essential to the success of this trek!
As you participate in your role as Ma & Pa, please remember the following counsel from President Dieter F. Uchtdorf:
“Stand close together and lift where you stand...No calling is beneath us. Every calling provides an opportunity to serve and to grow...Whatever your calling, I urge you to see it as an opportunity not only to strengthen and bless others but also to become what Heavenly Father wants you to become” (“Lift Where You Stand,” October 2008 General Conference).
As you help and serve the youth in our stake have a wonderful experience, please keep in mind the desired outcomes of trek:
Come to know the Savior and rely on His teachings and atonement.
Gain an appreciation for the strength and sacrifice of our pioneer ancestors.
Increase personal self-worth and know that you are capable of doing hard things.
Personal family history quest, find someone to walk for & someone who needs to be rescued.
We look forward to helping you faithfully execute the assignment of Pa & Ma. Our preparation and participation in trek will help the youth and ourselves build upon the legacy of faith we have been given.
